Intrigued by the amazing world of science? Want to know the answers to some everyday questions? The hugely popular Ultimo Science Festival is back! Come and celebrate the wonders of science from 12 – 22 September.
With a jam-packed program suited for all ages, the Ultimo Science Festival offers hands-on activities, science shows for kids, fascinating public lectures, exhibitions and behind-the-scenes tours – opening up the amazing and intriguing world of science for all to see. There is even a stand up comedy night featuring hilarious science comedians and a dynamic Arts & Science Soirée.
For eleven days in September, Ultimo will be transformed into a unique science hub bubbling with Festival activities across the Powerhouse Museum, ABC Centre, TAFE Ultimo and UTS Buildings.

Playing with Light - FREE with Powerhouse Museum admission
Dodge laser beams, build a telescope, freeze your shadow on a wall or paint with infrared light. This exhibition offers full interactive activities that take you into the bright, colourful world of light, lasers and lenses.

Suitable for ages 5 years and up, these science shows make everyday things seem extraordinary.
From setting up a space colony on Neptune's largest moon, Triton, to exploring the power of steam and electricity or examining the chemistry that happens in the kitchen exploding volcanoes these demonstrations will amaze, entertain and educate.
